I met my realtor at the house again today to sign more paperwork (it's endless!). Then I got some measurements done so I know what size of refrigerator, stove, etc. I also measured the living room and dining room area so I know how much paint to buy. I took a LOT more photos this time, if that's possible.

What a great house! You will have such fun living in that house - the living room columns! a pantry! that great tree (major tree envy here)! the porch! a window bench!
ReplyDeleteAnd, just to keep you on your homeowner toes, a porch column out of whack :-)
Wow -- after all the bricks I played with last year, the one thing I'm NOT envying you is keeping all of those bricks in tact! the house is gorgeous though. It looks like someone tried to take care of it inside so I'm hoping you're just looking at updating, not major reno inside.
ReplyDeleteKaren Anne,
ReplyDeleteHelp! I have over 100 sites in my google reader, which one is yours? lol
Looks great! I love your house.
ReplyDeleteYOu are right about some brickwork needing redone... you also have some portland cement mortar that should be chipped out and replaced at the same time, to prevent brick spalling from the harder mortar against the softer, older bricks.
Take your time to find a good mason who is also a restorationist OR do it yourself. We didn't, and will regret it forever, as now we have to chip out the bad mortar and put back in the good... and this is AFTER we told him what we wanted. At least I can be a voice of warning...
Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI don't have a blog. I wouldn't update it often enough. So I just periodically inflict photos via email on my hapless family members and friends :-)
Karen Anne,
ReplyDeleteOk, that would explain why I couldn't find you in my blogroll! ha
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. :)
NV,
ReplyDeleteNope, no major renovations planned. It looks like they have already done most of it. It actually has smoke alarms, an a/c, new kitchen tile, etc. I will most likely replace the kitchen cabinets soon, ick. And definately pull up all old carpet, refinish the hardwood floors and paint every room.
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI do believe I read about all the brick work on your blog... I'll have to go back and check now. I am definitely going to try and find a pro to do it.
Oh.
ReplyDeleteMy.
God.
What a FABULOUS brick home! I LOVE it. Awesome details everywhere you look! The windows, the arches, the collumns. Wow, am I jealous.
Those old shades are the bomb.
Thanks so much for visiting and following, I sure plan to do the same! : )
Wow, your house has so much character! I think you definitely got a great deal on it. I'm still being a little superstitious about posting my house tour... I'm waiting until I have an official closing date (right now the estimate is 8/20).
