Do you want to see...
what $320.00 worth of paint and primer looks like? Here ya go...
This is:
5 gallons of Valspar La Fonda Deep Clay Red for the dining room walls.
5 gallons of Valspar Caraway Shield for the living room walls.
2 gallons of Valspar Homestead Resort Pumpkin for the ceilings. (I think I underestimated now that I look at the photos of the house)
2 gallons of Valspar Primer
I also bought 2 cans of OOPS paint for $3.00 each. Both of them are in a browns.
The La Fonda Deep Clay Red, Caraway Shield & Homestead Resort Pumpkin colors are shown below. I decided to get a little brave with the reddish color...
Here are photos of my living room, dining room and ceilings that I posted a few months ago. I can't wait to see the house again this week; seems like it's been ages since I've been there!
That's going to look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to figure out what to do about ceiling colors. I had about decided to be cowardly and go with the wall colors, but maybe not.
dear god. I would kill for your ceilings girl! Painting them is always a pain- but the effect is seriously always worth it. Beautiful floors, lovley fireplace (that makes me jealous too!) Cant wait to see some updates- Your colors are going to be amazing!
ReplyDeleteKaren Anne, I may totatlly change my mind about what color goes where when I get into the house... all I know is right now, I absolutely hate the shiny maroon & yellow paints they have on all the trims/windows. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteBrismod, I am EXCITED! :)
ReplyDeleteVictoria, I absolutely love the ceilings... and they are what took my breath away when I first saw the inside of the house. The fireplace is is super condition for it's age isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThere is something so magical about fireplaces and mantles to me- I think its the fact that for centuries they have been a family's place of gathering- as well as the very heart of every home. If you think about all of the people who must have stood before it, its kind of exciting knowing that you and your family are now going to be a part of that patchwork that makes up your new/old home.
ReplyDelete... at least it would be that way for me if my chimney was still in existence! lol. I know you will enjoy yours enough for the both of us! :)
Victoria, yes there will be many years of memories created around that fireplace. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo words: Gor-Geous! So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have bookshelves in the column bases, I didn't even notice that.
ReplyDeleteKaren Anne,
ReplyDeleteYes, they are on both sides separating the dining and living rooms. The glass is crystal; so pretty.
