I'm Tired

Despite a stiff & sore neck, I managed to do the following after work:

Load 11: Closet stuff; purses, shoes, suitcases, etc.

I also cleaned out the new garage, which had a gazillion cobwebs, cat poop, trash, etc. It looks good now!! Then, since I hadn't inhaled quite enough dirt yet, I started working on the yard. I raked up about 20 piles of leaves & sticks from my HUGE old oak trees (I loooove my trees!) I filled my green waste barrel within about 20 minutes, so will have to go back and fill up black lawn bags tomorrow.

By then it was dark. So, I hung up my bathroom curtains & shower curtain. I then decided I was way too dirty and grimey to continue doing anything in the new house.

Oh, while I was there, the Listing Agents kid came & installed my smoke alarms. It was quite funny actually. I had told my realtor quite adamantly that the seller had agreed to bring the smoke alarms up to code. She kept telling me that the Listing Agent insisted that they didn't need to.

Well, today for the 1st time ever, Listing Agent all panicky and says 'we need to schedule a time for the smoke alarms to be put in'. Which I have learned, means 'my son is on the way over to do it in about 20 minutes'. I ignored her phone call because quite frankly, she hasn't been in any rush to help me out at ALL. I left the phone inside while I was outside working in the garage.

Sure enough, her son drives up and tells me he's there to install smoke alarms. 'Ok' I tell him, the door is open.

When he left about an hour later, I went in and checked my phone. There were 3 missed calls from the Listing Agent and 2 from my realtor. (They were from before the kid showed up) I listened to the messages and found out why all of a sudden the Listing Agent wanted to install smoke alarms....

My realtor said,

"Ann isn't getting her commission until all of the Request for Repairs are completed"
Of course... now it makes complete sense.

  1. Gee! I'm exhausted just reading your blog - you are not wasting one second! Loved your nickname for that ridiculous Listing Agent...pity she bred. And glad to hear your 100 year old house hasn't been fiddled around with as our 75 year (I think - haven't done the research yet) old house.

  3. Funny how they get things done when they know they won't be getting paid on time, eh?

  4. Meh. I wish you would have gotten her voice mails prior to that kid getting there. I would have let her sit on no commission for a few days- especially since she was in no hurry to help me. But, hey at least you got your new smoke alarms! You are making such progress. I hate moving so much, that when we did the last load I vowed we wouldn't move ever again. Your brave for tackling your garage... I was considering taking on mine this weekend. *shivers*

  6. Brismod: you are too funny.

    Why S: She certainly is!

Jodi: I hope you get a better agent then me!

Victoria: I had to clean the new garage so I can move over about 30 of those big plastic contains of stuff that is stored in this garage. That's not gonna be fun. lol

Karen Anne: They put one in each bedroom! And, no the code lock thing is still on the door cause he son didn't know how to remove it.
