She lives....

I'm so sorry... I don't get on the computer much anymore. I'd like to say it's because of been remodeling or decorating my house.... but, eh not so much.

It seems like I've been sick ever since I moved in. Either migraines for 7 days at a time, stomach virus, insane laziness (yes, that is an illness).

This week it's depression. I always miss my dad and brother around the holidays. I know they are in a better place and all that... but I want them here with me; I'm selfish like that.

The girls came over on Thanksgiving day though and we had a nice lunch. (Still no dining room set; hopefully this weekend). Then my oldest and I went to see the movie '2012'. It is an awesome movie.

I will try and update more later, getting ready for work right now. Thanks Victoria and Karen Anne for the little nudges. :)

  3. Well THERE you are! so sorry the absence has been because you're sick. GET BETTER!

Love the ladder in the background. Reminds me of MY house. (At least that says "Ready to work.") :-)

  4. I'm sorry about your Dad and brother. I don't think anyone gets over missing family, nor should they I guess.

As I get older, I like to think I will see mine "on the other side," which makes me happy. I told my brother he has to put at least two decks of pinochle cards in my casket, so I can play with them again :-) No one left on this side does that.

Have you seen a neurologist about your migraines? I remember your mentioning them before, but what you said about them has fallen out of my head.

I'm not really surprised you're sick and laid up, you have a huge amount of stress and work to do moving. Time to take very good care of yourself for awhile, imho.

I hope your new kitty is doing okay.

  6. @ NV: As soon as I took the photos I realized the ladder was there. I don't feel like taking it to the garage. :)

  7. @ Karen Anne: As an avid Sylvia Browne reader (I have no less then 20 of her books) I too believe they are on the 'Other Side'. Every time I get like this I just read one of her books and realize they are not completely gone... and I snap out of the sadness.

I did see a neuro for over 3 years. I have degenerative bone disease in my C3 / C4 in my neck. Sitting for 8 hours a day does not help the situation for sure. I stopped taking all meds for the migraines because I get different side effects from all of the ones I've tried.

I knew the move was going to make me lazy for at least a month. :) But, almost all the boxes are unpacked, so that in itself is an accomplishment.

  8. Glad to see you are still alive and well. .. er.. for the most part. You should have someone come in and inspect your house for mold issues, that might be the root of all your illnesses and can be common in older homes that have been vacant for periods of time. If you had a home inspection done sometimes they include this. The holidays are hard for everyone- and I am pretty sure no one thinks your selfish for missing close friends and family during this time. Your very lucky to have such beautiful children and grandchildren to distract you when you need it most. Hope all is well with the house of your dreams. :)
