January Rains

We had major rain today. When I came home for lunch, I had to drive 45 mph on the highway (like everyone else)... and still hydroplaned quite a few times. Scary!

It was pouring down like crazy here at home... the street around my house was completely flooded within 30 minutes. My sidewalks are a good foot lower then my lawn, yet the water is even with my lawn right now. I called the city to see if they can come and pump some water, but she said I need to rely on my storm drain since the whole city is flooded.

It is amazing how many idiots are flying by in that deep of water... which was all the way to the yellow line at one point.

I now have 'lakeside property' lol

I had to wade to my car in order to move it to the driveway

the entire street in front of my house is flooded for an entire block

  2. Victoria: On my way back to work, I did notice there were city trucks out all over the place handling the drainage problems. When I got home, all the water was gone from my corner. :)

I spent the last hour making sure there are NO leaves on the roadside, cause we are supposed to get more rain tomorrow. Don't want my leaves blocking the storm drain!

  3. Hi Debbie,

I am here via Victoria's beautiful blog (Confessions of a new old home owner). I enjoyed reading through some of your posts today. I feel your pain with flooding. I dedicated a post to it as well (I'm dreaming of a dry Christmas) Fun times. NOT! Your granddaughter is beautiful.

  4. It must be bucketing down for the street to flood. Hope you stay dry!
