Paint stripping update
I've made some progress on the stripping of the Redwood. I never realized it was so much work! I used Citristrip at first, then broke out the heat gun.
Plastic was hung when I sanded the panels smooth... it helped a little, but not much. I'm still finding sand in places it shouldn't be.
I would love to strip the ceiling beams eventually, but since my ceilings are 10 feet tall, it will be awhile until I get up the motivation.

this is a shot of my dining room today ~ still a lot of work ahead of me! (I had the date set wrong on the camera!)
Wow! You have been a busy girl haven't you ! I am loving all of the real wood showing through. Stick with it- it already looks 100 times better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria! I do love seeing the wood everyday instead of paint!
ReplyDeleteUPDATE:
ReplyDeleteThe painting was halted due to my daughter and grand-daughter moving in. I will have to finish it after they get their own place next year. I don't want my grand-daughter breathing in any fumes from heat guns or chemicals.
Nice job stripping paint! It is a lot of work and I can sympathize on the effort required.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much stripping of paint you and your husband have completed! Just reading your blog made me tired. lol
