I believe this is the company that made the bricks for my house. W.D. Trewhitt built the Scally Hotel, and I live in the Scally House. These sure look like my bricks! Southern Pacific Brick & Tile Company History In 1916, the Southern Pacific Brick Company, or the S.P. Brick Co., was organized by W. H. Shields of Fresno, W. D. Trewhitt of Hanford, and L. E. Hays of Exeter to manufacture common red brick about a half mile northwest of Exeter on Belmont Avenue. The office was located at 435 Powell Building and later 1501 Pacific Southwest Building, Fresno. Trewhitt was president, Hayes was secretary and general manager. About 25 men were employed. By 1919, machinery for the production of hollow tile was added. In 1921, the S.P. Brick & Tile Company was incorporated with a capital stock of $250,000. View of the S.P. Brick & Tile Company plant. We had major rain today. When I came home for lunch, I had to drive 45 mph on the highway (like everyone else)... and still hydroplaned quite a few times. Scary! It was pouring down like crazy here at home... the street around my house was completely flooded within 30 minutes. My sidewalks are a good foot lower then my lawn, yet the water is even with my lawn right now. I called the city to see if they can come and pump some water, but she said I need to rely on my storm drain since the whole city is flooded. It is amazing how many idiots are flying by in that deep of water... which was all the way to the yellow line at one point. I now have 'lakeside property' lol I had to wade to my car in order to move it to the driveway the entire street in front of my house is flooded for an entire block

Then, since I hadn't inhaled quite enough dirt yet, I started working on the yard. I raked up about 20 piles of leaves & sticks from my HUGE old oak trees (I loooove my trees!) I filled my green waste barrel within about 20 minutes, so will have to go back and fill up black lawn bags tomorrow. By then it was dark. So, I hung up my bathroom curtains & shower curtain. I then decided I was way too dirty and grimey to continue doing anything in the new house. Oh, while I was there, the Listing Agents kid came & installed my smoke alarms. It was quite funny actually. I had told my realtor quite adamantly that the seller had agreed to bring the smoke alarms up to code. She kept telling me that the Listing Agent insisted that they didn't ne...
